Up until about two days ago, I never knew who was Jar Jar Binks offending. But when I found out that he was offending black people, I just asked myself... How?! How is Jar Jar Binks offensive to black people?

Huh... Unless you're that DEEP into Avatar, I don't think anyone would go out and see Avatar as Satan's Bible and as a weapon againts the hindus

Everyone likes to give shit to today's big thing because it makes them feel like the underdog. It seems like they intentionally go out of the normal line of logic in order to feel persecuted. I guess that makes you feel more noble or something. I really don't understand.

I loved it. The storyline's been used over and over again, but that's for one reason -- it works.

| It was cliche ridden. There were times I felt I was watching a Pixar movie due to its over-reliance on CGI. The plot was a strange blend of Fern Gully, Dances With Wolves, and Pocahontas. The Na'vi were admittedly stylized to be a sexual fantasy. It was Fridge Logic: the Movie. |

Sometimes -- not always, but sometimes -- certain cliches have become cliches because they're effective. They were for me, in this case. To make a really obvious example of what I'm trying to get at (without going into detail because I'm tired as hell) would be something along the lines of "Oh look, another movie about a heterosexual couple who are attracted to each other, how cliche..." Well, yeah. But it doesn't mean it's bad just because it's conformist and done so often. It's done often for a reason. That's kinda what I mean by cliches being effective.
